If you are thinking of putting in USB ports in the receptacle than you will have to use a box and the correct receptacle. That is the one of the reasons I would use a box type receptacle.

It is still good info for those with a question but it may be a good idea to look at the date of the last post if you don't want to get into a discussion.

Thank you Duke, for this post. I was wondering how the receptacles on my unit were installed since there are no screws on the wall plate. I figured it was some type of snap on and you confirmed it. I was looking to install USB outlets in the bedroom as you mentioned.

As Norty said, even though the thread is old, it is still relevant and I learned something today.
