AM radio interference

We took the new trailer out for a spin last weekend and we has 30 amp shore power. I tried listening to am radio with all the stations being around 250 miles away so not super strong signals. There was a lot of interference which I suspect is the inverter. Am I on the right track? I'm mostly interested as I would like to do some ham radio at some point and I don't want that interference.

The aluminum skin on your trailer likely absorbs most of the AM signal. The AM antenna is not connected to your TV antenna. An exterior antenna would improve reception. You may also need to put a filter on the power line or connect the radio directly to the battery.

It looks like there is an external antenna and it doesn't have aluminum siding but does have aluminum supports. Most likely it's some where in the power system. I will look into getting a noise suppressor to run in line with the power. Was hoping someone else had the same problem and had a know solution. BTW the trailer is a Jaco Eagle HT 26.5BHS.
