Another leveling question

This may be a silly question but if scissor jacks can be used to change tires on trucks then why can't the scissor jacks on TTs be used to raise and therefore level side to side? I am taking delivery of a 2015 X23F early next week and am in a quandary on how to best level it. Upgrading from X17Z which i used a BAL leveler with.

Primarily design and gauge of steel used. They are not built to the same standards.

I spent a few hours Monday helping a retired guy field rebuild an electric stabilizer after it collapsed. It was not pretty, but it should have gotten him through his weekend.

It's not the Jacks you have to worry about. They are more than strong enough. It's the fact that you can bend the Frame of your Trailer..

Even if it doesn't take a permanent bend, it will flex. That means doors that won't latch, windows that won't open/close, awnings that won't properly extend/retract. Use leveling blocks or planks to level. Only use the scissor jacks to "stabilize" the trailer. Using blocks under the jacks so their extended length never exceeds their width will add to the stability.

Many years ago before weight and fuel prices were a big concern, trailer frames were made of heavy channel or in some cases light I-beam. With construction like that you could practically change tires with your stabilizer jacks. Nowdays most trailer frames are roll formed or stamped heavy gauge sheet metal and do not have the strength of a channel frame. The stabilizers are only meant to keep the trailer from rocking.

Level the trailer side to side by pulling the wheels up on blocks or whatever commercially available device of your choosing. Chock to keep the TT from rolling. Unhook from TV. Level front to back with tongue jack. Deploy stabilizers until snug. Job complete.

i figured it had something to do with structure. This will be my first dual axle trailer and part of me was bummed when I realized i was going back to blocks and ramps to level.
