Question Are you using a power cord reel?

I'd like some input on cord reels. Do you like 'em? How about rolling up the cable when it's cold?
The MOR/ryde says you can roll 50' of 50AMP (Really?) and I'm leaning towards that one but I guess I'm the perpetual skeptic.
All comments are welcome!
BTW, Tweety's has the best price that I've found.

Love our manual reel.

Here is a thread on a previous discussion on the Mor/Ryde power chord reel.

Took the option and love it!! Sooo much easier that the manual rolling then hanging of my last unit. In and out is a breeze. You do loose some basement capacity with the crank handle, but 18 gallon totes stack nicely next to it and allow me to crank it with them in place. Has a tension you can adjust to your liking.

Installed one right after we picked up our Pinnacle. Did not have the option installed. Found it a PPLMORTORHOMES Out of Texas. They had the best price I could find and quick shipping. Cannot remember shipping costs but they were not very much.
It makes it very easy to store a 35' 50 amp cord and ther is room left on the reel for more

I would like to have one but there is not enough room in our TT to store one and still be able to access other stored items.

I have one in a new Pinnacle, however, it's the factory install and isn't located in the basement area.

Question for those of you who have installed one of these reels in your storage compartment. Did you drill holes in the floor of the compartment, and if so, how did you determine what was underneath the floor before drilling? The underbelly of my fiver is closed, so I have no way of telling whether there are lines of any kind running underneath that area where I would have to mount this reel.

Hi Larry, the new 2015 Pinnacles offer a powered 50 Amp cord reel; one end of the 50 amp cord is attached, or permanently plugged in. It's built in where you typically would have your 50 amp receptacle. There's a door with a lock, you have to open the access door to access to the cord. You manually pull it out and then push the "recoil" button to rewind.
