Atwood Water Heater Substitute

Hi,

I have an Atwood G6A-7 water heater that has a blown tank (forgot to drain it before leaving Florida in Feb ). A full replacement is ~$575 where I live in Canada (much cheaper in the US, but tough to get it here and will work out to about the same amount by the time I throw in shipping and customs charges).

Just wondering if anyone has replaced that model with another brand or type of heater that may be lower cost? I am planning on trading in the trailer in the next year so want to keep it low cost.

It is a Jayco 1007 pop-up...

Take out the tank and have it welded by a certified tank specialist. And otherwise just order the tank from Atwood.

if you can take it out and have I tig welded. You could look at one of the small electric only tankless water heaters, good only with electric, but they take up very little room.

Got the tank removed and took it in for an estimate at a local welding shop - quote was for 3 hrs and $250...can buy just the tank for $289 from a local RV shop.

Must include lunch and coffee breaks the 3 hours; I would go for a second estimate at @ welding shop. Or buy the new tank from the local RV Shop
