Awning-1 BMPRO issue?

Suddenly my Awning (1 of 2) decided to stop working. All fuses are ok and I tried both the BMPRO touch pad as well as the manual button below the touch pad. Going into the basement where the control panel is I can hear what sounds like a relay click when I press the retract button but it does not click when the extend button is pressed. If it matters the awning light still works.

Has anybody seen this issue and if so how did you correct it?

Thanks!

I have a 2021 eagle 5th wheel my awning 1would not extend but would retract it was a bad relay in the node controller in the basement. The relays are not replaceable the hole node needs to be replaced. I wound up ordering a lippert awning switch and mounting in the basement pulled the awning wire for #1 off and wiring thru the switch works well. I have heard the node controller is around a $1;000 dollars if you are out of warranty and long lead time.

Interesting, I am still under warranty for another year but this could be a good temp solution. Do you have a link to what you ordered and does it still work off the BMPRO or is it an actual switch that you mounted somewhere?

No I don’t have a link just do a google search for lippert awning switch, my switch is mounted in the basement storage compartment mounted on the removable wall panel covering the node. I could take a picture of it tomorrow if you are interested in seeing.

Smile

Just did a google search, I am assuming it's a six pin switch? Then I just need to find the correct wires. This is a great idea, thanks so much for the help.

Yes 6 pin switch, node has wires identified just grab the positive and negative for awning having the issue. There is a 30 amp and a 40 amp fed to the node I tapped the 30 amp feed put a inline fuse holder with a 15 amp fuse in it to feed switch tie into white negative for negative to switch.

Do you hear any sounds, noise at the wall panel when you try to extend? Ours quit working on the second trip out after delivery. Per dealer instructions by phone, i checked all fuses inside and at the BMPRO control panel to no avail. $280 and one hour of a mobile's tech visit later, we had a working awning. They blamed it on Jayco and the fact Jayco had not put enough slack on the electrical cable to account for the extension of the awning. The plug had come undone!!

Not sure if I loaded pictures right
My awing would not electrically extend but would electrically retract
I was told it was a long lead time on new BMPRO node So I bypassed it and just added switch my node is behind removable panel below switch I added in pictures

So my solution was to take the power lead for extending awning-1 and put it in awning-2. So now they both go out when extending awning-2 which actually is kind of nice. They both retract one at a time. If I get in a situation where there is an obstruction for one or the other it is not an issue because the retract still works independently!
