Battery Cables? White=Positive?

I will be picking up our 2014 White Hawk from winter storage this weekend. When I dropped it off, I removed the battery to bring home and place on a trickle charger. I am 90% positive that when I removed the battery the positive terminal had a white wire and the negative had a black wire with a white stripe. Does that sound correct? I know I should have labeled them.

You can also check inside the power center to see how they are terminated, or look for the chassis ground point to confirm.

I certainly don't know for sure how your TT is wired, but I can tell you that in my new 5er, the battery wiring follows typical 110v household code, where white is neutral and black is hot ( positive )

Counterintuitive to DC wiring, where black is ground and Red is positive. Go figure.

If you hook it up backwards, it will blow the battery reversal fuse in the converter

In the trailer world BLACK is POSITIVE (+) and WHITE is NEGATIVE (-)

You might want to trace out the WHITE CABLE and make sure it comes from the trailer FRAME GROUND to be sure.

Sometimes the AUTOMOTIVE WORLD gets mixed in with the RV TRAILER World where the RED cable is POSITIVE (+) and BLACK is ground (-).

If you hook them up backwards (REVERSE POLARITY) it will blow some fuses...

TIP of the day. Take some red electrical tape and wrap it around the positive ends of your battery connection.. this will help you remember which is which..

I managed to fry a battery because I didn't understand that an RV battery was different.

If your trailer has a single battery just remember that the negative post hooks to the frame for a ground. If you have two batteries make sure you don't hook them up so you send 24 volts to the trailer.

TTs are wired just like your house, not like a car. White is neutral (negative) and black is hot.
