I am having a problem with my batteries. I replaced my old batteries with new crown 6v batteries. They draw down easily with the lights on and then rebuild to full after a couple min when you turn the lights off. I have replaced the connections to the batteries as they were corroded. When hooked unto power the lights are nice and bright. Wondering if converter is toast

If the converter was bad you wouldn't get bright lights on shore power.

Were the old batteries 6VDC? Did you connect the batteries in series?

They are connected right I replaced my interstates with new batteries. There is a draw or a short in there somewhere

Do you have a volt/ohm meter?

Were the old Interstate batteries 12VDC or 6VDC GC2's

Multiple 12VDC batteries are connected in Parallel whereas multiple 6VDC Batteries are connected in series to get 12VDC you need to run your trailer.

Thinking everyone on here wants a more detailed description of what work you went through to replace your old batteries...

The old ones were 6v. I thought they were dying so I bought new batteries and figured that was the issue. I don't have an ohm meter.

Ok, when you get a chance, head over to Walmart and pick up an inexpensive meter,
They are about $10. Leave it in your TT as it will help you trouble shoot your electrical problems. They are simple to use

Good luck on tracking the problem. The BATTERY CASE is the place to find the TERMINAL markings on the batteries. Sometime just having pictures of the old install may lead you astray on hooking them up. You can the markings on the battery case to make sure you have the cables going to the right places... Sometimes the CASE MARKINGs are different even with the same brands of batteries but newer manufacturing dates.

Having a mulitmeter in the RV tool box is a great idea. I got two or three layin around here somewhere from my travels.

The crowns are the top of the line batteries and you sure don't want to hurt them before you even get to use them...

ALot of folks like to hook two groups of 6VDC batteries like this is their battery boxes... This would be my choice if my battery box allowed me to sit the batteries in this layout orientation.
