Beaumont, Tx need help

We are trying to recover from the flooding here and I have a problem. I have a JayFlight 34RSBS. I had never used the freshwater tank before the storm so I filled it to make sure I had water after. When our city water failed, I turned on the pump and there was no water. The pump runs and gurgles but no water. The tank showed full after I filled it but now shows empty. When I filled it, I didn't see any water leaking out anywhere. Now here I am with no water and don't know where it went. Anyone have any ideas? I need to get this fixed asap and our local dealer is underwater.

The outside valves were shut and the pump was off until we needed it.

Thanks for any help.

Cliff

I did that and everything looks right. I've had several RVs before and never had this happen.

The tank is for sure empty. I opened the drain valves and nothing comes out.

I see 2 valves and 2 overflow lines. Does that mean it has 2 tanks? If so, how do you turn them on?

The handle should be in line with the hose from the tank to the pump

How high did the water get? If it got above the fresh water tank it may be possible that when the water receded it created a suction on the overflow lines and sucked the water out of the tank. Also if the water was above the tank I would be very leary
about drinking it

I don't see a valve between the tank and the pump.

As for the water, it may have gotten high enough to reach the bottom of the overflow lines but not the bottom of the tank. I moved it to higher ground before that happened. I thought about it siphoning from the overflow but those lines should not reach below the top of the tank so that shouldn't be possible.

As for drinking the water, I just want to take a shower. I'll sanitize the whole system before I try to use the water for consumption.

It's too late for this time but I want to make sure it doesn't happen again.

When you filled it did you try the pump?

I'd go out and fill it and try it again. See if it is leaking anywhere. Make sure the pump and valves are all set correctly.

Could someone have come and 'stolen' your water? Maybe from the outside shower? On ours it is not difficult to get into the outside control panel if you have a screwdriver.

I don't remember if I tried the pump. I didn't see any leak when I filled it. I did check the level gauge and it was full. Now it shows empty. I plan to check it out when we are off the boil order.

Nobody had a chance to steal the water. I was home the whole time. Besides, it would take quite a while to take 80 gallons.

If the tank had 80gal in it and it went somewhere there should be clues. It takes a big leak to empty 80 gal in a day or two. If it was a week or two then it doesn't take that big a leak. With all the rain you would not notice it under the RV so you'd have to see it dripping to determine if and where it was leaking. With enclosed bellies it is had to see it as it happens. You'd have to fill it and then go out and check in an hour or so to see if anything is dripping.

That is my thinking too. When I filled it the weather was clear and I didn't see any water under the trailer for a couple days. After that, the rain started. I plan to find the problem when our water service is back to normal. There is no point in putting tainted water in the tank now.

Is there any way that the water could have been siphoned out by the city water while it was still working. My wife seems to think so because my lavatory faucet made an aerated sound after I filled the tank. All the other faucets were normal and none showed any change in volume or pressure. I don't see how that could have emptied that much water in a couple of days but I could be proven wrong. We certainly didn't use anywhere near that much water.
