Black Tank Flush ??
I own a 2014 Jayco Whitehawk Summit 33BHBS , and it is equiped with a black tank flush hookup , My question is , when using this , do I need to use a water pressure regulator to keep from damage to water line or do I just hook water line straight to the hook up ???

That's a good question, and I don't know the answer. But I'll guess that it doesn't make much difference either way. Maybe a little more flow without. I have mine connected when I flush and it seems to work fine. I'm sure we'll get some informed opinions tho.

We had this discussion recently in another thread. Mixed reviews. Me personally, I have always used a regulator (separate from my fresh water regulator) just to make sure I am not introducing too much pressure into the RV water lines. JMHO

If it is a seperate connection you don't need a regulator since it is an open line. The more pressure the more cleaning it will do.

Though it's a separate connection, like red horse and d&m, I also use a regulator (separate from my fresh water). It may not be necessary, but I'd rather be safe than sorry and the tank still seems to clean very well

I have a 2014 Seneca, with a tankless water heater. Will a pressure regulator allow enough flow for it to work?

If it makes you feel better use one, but it can't possibly hurt anything by not using one.

Our dealer told us that it wasn't needed, as it's a direct connection to the sprayer. It seems to clean better without a regulator anyway.

I was reading a RV blog the other day, and someone made the comment that ALL RV plumbing have the same psi ratings, as they had "blown" a hose or fitting on their BWT flusher by not using a pressure regulator. Guess they found out the hard way.

The hose for my BWT flush is marked with 150psi rating. My trailer also looks like it has a built in back flow valve for the BTW flush. However, this leaked on me 2 days ago when I was using the flush. Luckily I caught it early and didnt have much water inside. Turned out the threaded connection to the hose was loose. Now I will check this connection prior to starting flush.

Anything can (and probably will) happen. I'd just rather put that little piece of insurance inline.

Would have no effect on the WH since pressure varies from CG to CG anyway. The regulator just protects your RV from those that have pressures in the 70, 80 90 lb range and they do exist.

What's between the outside fitting and the sprayer? May be direct but there has to be a hose or PEX and some sort of connections at both ends connecting to fitting and sprayer. Could be a stainless supply line. I'd be careful until I knew what was there. May want to contact Jayco. I've seen water in excess of 110 psi.

A bunch of elbows and, hopefully, a back-flow preventer.

Since you dont shut off that line at the tank end then you dont need one.. the higher the pressure going to the rinser the better
