Cable company digital converter box

I have a 2012 Jayco Pinnacle 5th wheel. Normal cable tv was never a problem hooking up, and all tv's are new. I was issued a Comcast Cable digital conversion box at the campground office, but no matter what I tried I couldn't receive any channels. A Comcast tech came out and said his meter shows a decreased signal strength after the signal enters the 5th wheel from its normal cable hookup outside. He suggested that there is interference somewhere inside the rv causing the decreased signal to the tv. Now this guy is no rv expert, so I'm asking for help here, since I get normal cable channels at other campgrounds, and only encountered this problem with a cable box. Is there something I need to do different to make this work in an Rv? By the way hooking up the cable wire directly from the outside pole to the tv did produce cable channels, but I don't think I should have to do that.

I have been a few CGs where we had to that pain in the axx route and it worked fine.
We had to set the tv on ch 3 and use the cable tuner remote for channel changes.

Only thing I can say is make sure the amp is off.

He might be right. If you have a signal splitter in your unit that could be the cause. the new digital cable is on a different frequency set than the old cable system. The old splitters will not pass the newer digital signals. I had several in my house when I had digital installed and nothing worked. Went and got new ones, at a considerable savings over cable company installed ones and all is good now. If this is only a once or twice a year occurance then a cable thru the window may be the route to go.

I have a Pinnacle also and had to hook up a Comcast cable box last month. If you have the jumper in the cabinet by the TV it worked when I disconnected the short jumper from "A" and connected to cable box input and connected the output to the "B" connection. The CG operator said they have a lot of trouble with the cable boxes losing their programming.

I was hooking up my Tailgater this past weekend and had the stereo removed and did not see a signal splitter on the line from the outside cable hookup.

Yep used the short jumper A & B just like you said when I got home, and it works- correct me if I'm wrong but I'd need a cable box at every tv to receive the cable signal just like I have a deprecate box for every tv in my home?
