camco insect cover for heater

I would hate to ruin the new side of my trailer {'13 228} but is there anything I can put on the mesh cover ring that actually touches the trailer side to prevent scratching?

The mesh ring you are talking about doesn't even touch the paint on my TT. It covers the vent opening, but the ring actually rests against the flat part of the square vent. Hope I'm describing this so it's clear.

I assume you are talking about the furnace vent. We had one of those on our popup for two years, it did sit on the surface but did not leave scratches or marks of any kind.

Mine sits on the vent cover, and is held there by two springs. I couldn't believe what a challenge it was to attach the darn thing with the springs, even w/ the tool provided, but it hasn't budged since installation.

Wait until you try and take them off, that's even more fun. Don't lose that little tool that came with it.

Oops!

As far as the vents, most of them I have seen are metal so they should not touch or scratch anything else. I believe they come in a couple of different sizes so it is possible what you saw was the incorrect one?
