Camera question

i am considering adding a camera to back of unit . not for backing , but for passing . my 3914 is listed at 44 ft long . it is every bit of that . even though tow unit has extendable mirrors the passenger side is about 1/2" too short when extended . had a 38ft 5er before and could see end of trailor fine . not that i plan on passing a whole lot , but being a former otr driver in earlier point in life i know how important it is to know where the end of trailor is ,for sure . so far im being told to get a hard wired system compared to wireless unit . im sure this has been discussed on this site before , but if anyone has any experience , or input , with this issue i would like to hear from you . either way not a cheap upgrade , work too hard for my money to spend it on something that does not do the job when i need it the most . any help on this will be much appreciated .thanks in advance .

If you want to go cheap, I used this $15 camera from Amazon, a $20, 5" TFT monitor from eBay, and a $10 20' RCA cable to connect the two for my TV. I'm sure you could use the same set up with a longer RCA cable and wire the monitor and camera to a switch instead of the back-up lights. I've had the cheapie camera for for 2 years now and it's still holding up well but either the camera or monitor will stop working when it's extremely cold outside.
