City Water Connection -Humming noise

I had to replace the city water connection (outside cover) as the one way valve failed.

The new city water connector came with a male connection (connects to waterline) while the waterline also has a male connection. I purchased a female adaptor to connect the city water connector to the water line.

However everytime and during the entire duration when the water is being used, a humming noise is omitted at the city water connector/the adaptor.

Has anybody else experienced this humming noise and I am wondering if it is a faulty city water connector or the material used for the female adaptor.

Thanks

Could be low water pressure....or your regulator is failing causing low water pressure. After you replaced the inlet / check valve....you also could have gotten debris stuck in the check valve. Disconnect the water line and see if water leaks from the inlet. You also could have installed an improperly rated or calibrated inlet / check valve.

Any of these issues could cause a fluttering / humming check valve.

Good luck

We have had a water pressure regulator like this one hum when water is being used - could that be the source of your noise?

UHHH that is MY regulator and it better still be on the faucet end of my hose or I will know who has it.

The last time I had a regulator fail it made a humming noise at the faucet.

I have had this issue since we've had our '03 Eagle Cove. A plumber friend suggested it may be a faulty ball valve that is vibrating. I plan to investigate more this coming week when we replace the rotten plywood next to the slide out.

Correct...in this context...ball valve = check valve = one-way valve

Usually built-in to the City Water Connection hardware.

City Water Connection -Humming noise

I don't know what it could be but it can't be normal. Mine doesn't hum and all we use is city water hook ups through a Valterra adjustable regulator...

water connections

Not sure that it would make any difference but it seems like you may have ordered the wrong replacement city water connection. They come in all different configurations. Now you have added an adaptor in the equation and it should not make any difference but....... I was just wondering if that might have anything to do with your problem????
