Converter / DC Power Troubleshooting

I'm new to the camper world, and am having some trouble with my 1996 Jayco Eagle 12. On the last camping trip, we were running the two overhead lights and furnace on battery power when they all just flickered and quit.

The voltage across both 7.5 amp fuses reads about 11.2 - 11.5 v. So I have DC power to the converter and across both fuses. So why do none of my fixtures work with battery power. All items work fine when hooked to shore power.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Converter is a Carson Model No. CP-10FK-2. serial number 124435

ps my 3 yo daughter is helping and is insisting on using some emoji's SO these are for her.....

That voltage is at or near what's considered a dead battery.

I should note that I tested the voltage at the battery, and it read 12.24v.
I have also tried it on two different batteries. I do not believe the batteries are the problem.

Then you could have a loose connection or corroded ground from the battery to the converter/fuse panel.

the converter doesn't need 12v, it produces 12vdc from 120 vac. sounds like your converter could be bad

As Grumpy said "Grounds". This is usual a big problem. Check all the ground connections on the chassis is where you start.

Thanks Guys, I'll give the ground wire a good look when I get a chance.

Will post back up with the results when I actually get a chance to create a solid ground.
