Cover Repairs

So after my earlier thread of snow removal, I have to start a new one.

After removing some snow I guess I should have done it sooner, I got two rips in the cover. I have the patches that come with it. I was thinking about returning it, but I would have to wait until the spring. Plus I purchased it from CampingWorld in the US and I am in Canada, the shipping charges would be more than $100.

So when I take it off in the spring I plan on putting the patches that came with it on. What are everyone's thoughts on the rip at the a/c unit, I am thinking that if I put the patch on without having it stitched the adhesive might not hold due to the pressure the patch would be under.

Anyone used the patches before? Are the pretty sturdy in terms of the strength of the adhesive?

I just put a garbage bag under each rip and taped the bag to the cover just to get it through the winter. Sucks big time.

I would stitch up the tears and then put a patch on the inside and one on the outside over it. If you call adco they will send you a bigger patch kit. Use a cleaner on the cover and the patch material will adhere much better.

Yep, would definitely stitch it first. I am really surprised it ripped like that, I get a few tears around the bottom edge but that's just from sharp edges I didn't catch.
