Cracked?

This is under my shower, small leak. Does it look right? Look like a possible crack? I will try to pull it out tomorrow. Thx!

That looks like a bad crack to me.
One way to tell, pour some water down there and see if you got a leak.
Someone not winterize it right?

It is leaking, not real bad, it was winterized fine.
Am I right in turning this way ------> to take it off?

That should be the correct direction.

I believe you turn left but saying that I question myself. Go to your homes kitchen sink or bathroom and see which way loosens the trap as it is easier to test on

No - I believe you should be turning it the other way. The collar will stay on the trap so it should be counter clockwise

I thought that collar stayed on the top line and the lower sweeping line had the threads on it.
If that is the case then turning it to the right would be correct.

Ok, so I just went to my kitchen sink in my house and my collar threads off by turning it to the right and stays on the top pipe. The vanity sink in my bathroom is the same way. I can't get to my trailer to look right now, but I dont see why it would be any different.
But, it is an rv, so who knows. Lol!
All these different answers, we're gonna drive this poor guy to start drinking! Lol!

The collar is going to stay on the bottom pipe (trap?) So if it turns the same way as my kitchen sink it would turn the other way from what i said to take it off, I think!

Here ya go. Check this out.

The collar stay on the top and the bottom (trap) is the threaded piece.

I think mine is opposite, look at the ribs on the collar in the video and mine in the picture

Not sure if there is a crack or there is no rubber gasket in there, it seems to be leaking from the collar

Got it off, sorry for the bad picture, hard spot to get one.....don't think there is a rubber gasket in the collar, should there be? Not sure what they put on the threads but it is wet and doing nothing. Should there be Teflon tape?
If gasket is needed, is this a standard size?

Ok, I see what you are talking about. And I'd have to say that collar stays on the bottom trap pipe so it would thread off by turning to the left. Doesn't make sense, but... it is an rv. Lol!

It almost looks like pipe dope or plumber's putty of some sort. I've honestly never seen any type of sealant on threads on a line like that and you would think there would be some kind of sealing ring either around the pipe or a flat rubber gasket ring that would help seal between the two joints. This one has me a little baffled.
