Creaky Floor...

I took possession of a new 2013 26BH last March. In the middle of last summer the floor started creaking a little when walked on in a certain spot in the middle of the “hallway?” in front of the stove, but then it transitioned into a much more audible “old house wooden floor” type of creak towards the end of the summer. This happens while parked on level cement pad with stabilizers down.

Went in for some unrelated service about a month ago, mentioned to dealer, and they did “something” to resolve the creak in the floor while in service. Now it has started to lightly creak in front of the sink. Just cleaned and inspected the roof and have been vigilant for any signs of water intrusion, but do not see any. I am guessing maybe loosening of screws from road vibration/travel is causing the creaks, but this is my first trailer and don’t know if it’s a sign of a different issue, or if its normal behavior as these types of trailers age, and just something to get used to.

Any ideas on what may be causing the creak, and if it’s possible to fix without taking back to dealer?

In a new trailer, I end up seeing at as fact of life. Sometime the amount of "lift" from the corner sab jacks can change things, tweak the chassis a bit and so you might experiment with that.

After you've had the trailer awhile, just don't walk there.

If it really bothers you, and I can imagine how it might, keep on your dealer. You could also send an Email to Jayco and ask their opinon and any options for repair.
