Just bought a Garmin 785 RV GPS with the built-in dash cam. It easily attaches magnetically to the windshield mounting bracket and automatically starts the camera. Very simple.

I have a $50 cheapo from Amazon. Added a card and suction cupped to front window. Plugged into outlet that is on when engine runs. Every once in a while I take the card in and make sure it is recording. Then re-format to erase saved areas. Most save if the sensor is triggered by a bump or hard stop to Save some minutes video. If you don't delete them it could eventually fill up.

I will replace it with a more expensive model someday that stays on when parked and will record if car is bumped or moves (hit and run, parking lot bumps type stuff.)

I have a KdLinks X1. It reviewed very highly online and on Amazon. It has been pretty much useless for me. It does nothing but fall off of the windshield of my trucks at the slightest bounce. When it does stay on, the picture and sound quality is very nice. I would avoid it and look for another model with a better mounting system.

Did you wet the sucker before applying to a clean window? A little spit works better than plain water.
Mine falls off every couple of months in very hot or very cold weather. It also helps to support the power cable by wrapping it around the mirror.

I have tried wetting it. Nothing seems to work with that one.

I use olive oil. Put some on and wipe it off. Sticks like epoxy

I bought these this past summer. We have 3 vehicles, all with windshield mounted GPS units. Since using these disks, none of the units have fallen off the windshield. Wish I found them sooner.

Thank you. That looks like exactly what I need.

The one I bought for my van shows not available at this time but it attaches to the rear view mirror and has an input for a rear view camera. I already had a rear view camera so I mounted another camera to the side mirror so that I can see my blind spot. It records both inputs and you can toggle between the views. It hasn't failed me in almost 5 years. I want to find another dash cam with at least 1 other camera input so that I can install it in the RV. My only compliant is the default view is forward which means I need to toggle every time I start to see the blind spot. I would still buy another because there isn't anything additional attached to the windshield or dash and it has a mirror that I can still use to see out the back. Seeing out the back through a mirror isn't relevant to the RV but the windshield and dash clutter is.

I have been having one for years, I believe 10 years now I have it hardwire in my truck. I forget the name and I use to have some pics but I have to look for it.
