Do you have a transfer pump for camping?

When we dry camp I always take 5, 5gal water containers in the back of the truck. Then I pour into the tank on the RV. I’m thinking about using a pump to transfer. Has anyone done this? I’m going to go to camping world and buy the RV pump they have for $59 bucks and connect hoses. Tell me how you have done this? Also what pump did you use?

If you're going to get a pump, why not get a 55 gallon plastic drum rather than fool around with all those 5 gallon jugs?

Having said that, the bed of my pickup is a few inches higher than my fresh water fill port. If yours is similar, use a siphon and let gravity do its magic. No pump necessary.

Get one of these.

and a pump. Lowes or HD have the pipe to hose fittings ( male and female) to attach the hoses to the pump. You can use the 12v at your 7 pin for power. Worked great for me.

I use a drill pump. Works for what I need. Got it on amazon.

I got one. Not used it yet. What do you do to clean it and store it?

I just add 3-4 gals water and a little bleach(couple tablespoons) and slosh it around then drain. Once you fold it up and cap it it's air tight.

I have used the one Grumpy suggested for the last 9 years Boondocking. NO holes in it yet. I took an old RV FW pump to do the transfer with..

Get the tank that fits where you can haul it... As far as the pump, buy the same brand and model you have in your RV... Get the 1/2inch adapters to Hose thread and use it to transfer water into the RV.

This way... WHEN you have an eventual problem with your RV water pump - your spare is already with you.

We have a 35 gallon tank that we have lots of options to haul on the trailer or even on the back of our 4-wheeler. We need two trips to fill our 75 gallon tank in the RV instead of moving it.

I made up one from a old washing machine. It is a 120VAC model but having my generator and small wattage Power Inverters around I can come up with the 120VAC pretty easy...

I have a small 12 volt submersible bilge pump and 10 ft of PVC hose. The pump is small enough to fit into the blue Aquatainer, and I put alligator clips on the wires to connect to the RV battery. Put the hose into the trailer fresh water tank, drop the pump into the full Aquatainer, connect the wires to the battery, stand back and stare at it until it's done. It takes a few minutes, but I'm on vacation and not in a hurry anyway.

I did go to camping world and buy the pump. $89 less sale price $79 less coupon on latest catalog $20 off anything so $59. It works sweet pumps at 3 gallons a min. Tried it out in the drive way can’t wait to take it camping. To answer the question why not get a blater that sits in the rear of the truck that is simple I already own the 5 gal containers maybe at some point I will get one but for now it will be fine. The tank on the RV is 81 gallons, this will give me 106 gallons of fresh water.
