Dometic Digital Thermostat Replacement - 2020 Jay Feather 22RB

The Dometic Digital soft touch thermostat for our a/c has trouble holding the temperature setting and will turn off and immediately turn back on. Not sure if it is the location (in doorway) or a faulty thermostat. Anyone have issues with theirs? Anyone replace their thermostat? If so, what did you replace it with? We bought a Honeywell Focus PRO 5000 Series (TH5110D1006) and before we attempt to install it we wanted seek some input from the Forum. Thank you!

As I read the specifications for the the Honeywell Focus PRO 5000 Series (TH5110D1006) thermostat it needs 20-30 volts a/c to operate or it must operate from internal batteries.

My understanding is Dometic has for several years are a " communicating " thermostat, 3 wires to AC control box . The T5000 will not work as a simple replacement. If a Coleman/Airexcell easy cheesy but I would add a 12to 3 volt transformer to power the battery terminal
Not saying impossible but would need to be a couple of relays , wireing changes , etc. You are sorta stuck with Dometic.

Dometic just replaced my 3-wire thermostat free and out of warranty. It did take being on hold for hours and calling three times to get one though. Mine was acting crazy.... touch the button and it would either go to 90 or change from F to C.

Mine does this as well. I am looking for an simple, basic, analog replacement. Anyone figure out how to get one of those? There’s no advantage to having a digital unit.

I had the Coleman Mach slider thermostat on the RV when I purchased it, and found like many others did that it can easily be off as much as 5 to 7 degrees. Purchased a Honeywell digital model and wire that in...only difference is that I gave up the slow speed on the fan, which really doesn’t mean much to me. That was the best upgrade I’ve done so far.
