Electric jack

Hey all... I'm curious... is there any type of maintenance that needs to be performed on my electric tongue jack?

The biggest problem I've had is the three star washers that ground the jack. They do corrode. If the jack quits working electrically, that's the first to check. There is 1 hot wire, usually fused.

Thanks! How about lubing or greasing the jack? Is there a need to do that or is the jack sealed? Thanks again!

I don't remember what brand mine was, but the motor was sealed with O-rings.

Ours is sealed, and doesn't require any maintenance with the exception of keeping the jack post clear of mud or gunk on it.

The first one I had died after about 3 years from the weather. Water had gotten into the motor housing and it shorted out. Now I keep a small plastic bucket over my new one and it has been over5 years with no problems.
