Your battery will be dead in short order and you will probably burn up the magnets. Also the wheels need to be turning for the brakes to apply.

I don't think there is a definitive answer, for long term. How long are you talking?

The magnets will get full power (all the amps the magnets will pull). The magnets will get hot.

I have pulled mine and let it sit for a few hours with no noticable issues. I know of a few posts where they have been pulled by accident (mostly small kids playing), and no clue how long they have been engaged. Don't recall anyone stating the magnets were fried.

Whheel chocks are cheaper and easier to maintain.

These work even better:

If the wires to the magnet get hot and short out before your battery dies, you won't have any brakes on the trailer. Personally, I would not do it and take the chance. Chock the wheels well, and drop the stabilizer jacks. It doesn't sound like leaving it hooked up to your TV isn't an option.
