Electrical Load Balancing
I full time and try to use as little propane as I can since I camp host most winters. Being in the south I don't have much of a problem with below freezing temps so keeping the underbelly from freezing requires little furnace use except during the coldest spells which don't last long usually.
One of the first things I had to do was to identify which electrical outlets were on which leg, 1 or 2, and where I could plug in my electrical space heaters and keep the breakers happy (I have 3 plus the built in electric fireplace which is on it's own breaker).
Once this was all figured out I can run the rear fireplace, 2 ceramic 1500 watt space heaters, and a 1500 watt oil filled radiator at the same time and not trip a breaker. I just looked at my EMS unit this morning when I first turned all of the heat on to see how my load was balanced and all was good. L-1 43 amps, L-2 24 amps and all power paid by someone else .

We ran "all electric" 99% of the time even while up North in the winter and never had an issue either.

You can track down which outlets are on which circuits with a Digital Circuit Breaker Finder without all the trouble of tripping breakers. You just plug the transmitter in an outlet and scan the breaker panel with the receiver and it tells you which breaker that outlet is on. You do this with the power on.

Years ago I identified all my outlets and put a dot on the outlet cover to signiiy L-1. Now I can tell not to plug 2 high draw appliances into outlets with a dot at the same time.
Same effect. You only have to do it once.

43-24 is not balanced in my book ? Did I miss something. A balanced load is both phases current as close to the same as possible. Looks to me like moving one of your heaters to the other phase would get you a lot closer.

But this way I have 20+ amps to play with when I need to plug in something else. Maybe balanced was the wrong word, but it works well this way and has since 2010.

So your on a 50 amp service, which gives you 12,000 watts at 120 volts. Once you have determined which breakers control which outlets than it's easy to adjust your load on each. 1500 watts or 12 1/2 amps. A 15 amp breaker will allow 1800 watts, at 120 volts, a 20 amp breaker will allow 2400 watts at 120 volts. If voltage drops (which is typical) than your amps draw may go up, of the efficiency of the appliance will go down. You may be able to run a heavy duty extension cord to the pedestal and plug into the 20 amp receptacle and use that for one of your heaters. Just make sure you have a cord gauged for the draw of that heater.
You may be able to turn your furnace fan on, and circulate the heat from your heaters, without using the propane.
Good Luck.

Balance is not really needed. If either side exceeds 50a draw, the ganged breaker will trip them both.

edatlanta, that's quite an inductive load you are putting on your electrical system. Have you checked to see if all your neutral connections are tight?
