Electrical problem

I have an X11E Hybrid. Last fall after arriving home from camping trip, I found that the cable to TV had been completely sliced at a diagonal. I have no clue when or how that happened. Anyways, my repair included adding an electrical connector box, to tie old cable in with new piece. But now, I have no 12v power. I know battery is good, and I have 12v at the new box. I can get shore power but nothing else. I do not see any fuse at camper hitch. I have checked fuses at converter. Could the converter be dead? No trips until this is fixed because of brakes. And I can't take it for repair for that reason too. HELP!!! Thanks!

There is usually a 30A fuse at the battery which will isolate it from the TT. If wired properly this fuse does not disconnect the TT brakes. Pull your break-away and see if the brakes activate. By "cable to TV", I think you are talking about the electric connector to your Tow Vehic and not the television. At my first read I thought you were talking about the cable TV co-axial.

Never mind. Found it. Could not find it in the fall when weather was nice. No, I had to wait until there is snow and ice. It was wrapped in electrical tape. I thought it would just be a wire junction. Nope...30 A fuse is blown. Feeling dumb. Appreciate this forum.

Likely blew when the cable was cut. Now the real mystery....How did that happen?

To easy to find in warm, sunny weather.

Yes, I have wondered. Either somebody cut it when we stopped for lunch, or it got caught up in hitch when backing up into driveway. That is the only 2 possibilities.

That's great news!
I agree about this forum, the collective wisdom and knowledge found here could easily solve the world's problems - but who would listen to a bunch of trailer-trash.

One of my few good habits is a walk-around when the truck and trailer have been out of my view for lunch, 'pit stop', etc. Never had mine messed with and never met anyone that had theirs messed with at times like those, but....

I will do a walk around from now on. You just never know. Maybe I pised off somebody, or whatever. I will also be more mindful of that cable and its placement.

Possibly got pinched by the hitch or equalizer bar in a hard turn.

It was such a clean cut. The outer jacket was not scrapped or appeared compromised. Just don't know. Anyways, 12v now works and all is well, just waiting on spring.

Agree most likely a pinch between the hitch, sway bar, and or WHD bars. Hooked up on our recent trip and made a quick stop at wally world for supplies. Noticed that my TT nav lites were not working. A quick check showed that the pigtail was caught between the WDH bars and the TT frame, causing the plug to be pulled loose from the TV. Didn't cut the pigtail or any of the wires so just had to be more careful with how I fed the pigtail to the TV.
