EMS-30 Surge Guard Failure
A little bump in the road today.....
Had our TT plugged in and fridge running to prepare for an up coming camp outing. This afternoon I thought I would check on the fridge in the TT. I found there was no 120 volt in the TT, and as luck would have it, I didn’t have the propane bottles turned on. The fridge had tried to switch to run on propane, but of course couldn’t. I lost a few food items which were in the freezer and had almost fully thawed. After some trouble shooting, I determined my 3 month old hardwired EMS had failed and had cut off the 120 volts to the TT. I am disappointed that the EMS had failed. I will call Progressive Industries in the morning when they open up, to see what solutions they might have for me.
A bit more info; if I unplug the TT, then plug in again, the EMS will run fine for 4 or 5 minutes, then fail. I repeated this sequence a half-dozen times, same result. The supply voltage here is 120 volts, 60 Hz....quite normal. No thunder storm events here.
