I'm sure it's been said several times in these post that I have not read. But most people get carried away greasing wheel bearings, unless they are on a boat trailer where it gets in water and many have small tires that makes the bearings turn much faster, you don't need to mess with them all the time. Cars and trucks in the 79s, 80s etc often ran 89-100k without having the bearings serviced. Usually only when brakes were replaced. The E-Z lube is a good way to ruin brake shoes.

Heck, I need to find mine. The Pinnacle brochure says I have them. They must be hiding behind the center cap on the wheels.

Most likely that's where they will be. Use ONLY a hand powered grease gun and pump very slowly until such time the old grease is displaced by the new!

And jack up the wheel, spin it when pumping, make sure the grease/hub is warm before you start so the old grease is softened, and... pray that the grease doesn't slip past the inner seal and ruin your brakes.

Thank you both, great advice. I am having hydraulic brakes installed in October. I presume the installer will have a good knowledge of wheels and bearings and brakes. May have to pick his brain.

You may be thinking of a hub cap with a grease fitting. These are easy to install but frankly don't work very well. The EZ-lube system has a special spindle that directs grease to the rear bearings. This works pretty well but you still must hand repack the bearings every few years.

If you abide by this, the EZ Lube system is fine. If not, likely to blow the inner seal out and brake shoes will be saturated.

here is a link to a thread I started in 2012. I will NEVER use EZ Lube set up again. https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...gain-8207.html

The instructions also state that you must rotate your wheel while injecting grease, which most people don't do. But think about this. The grease comes in between the spindle seal and the outside of the inner bearing. Grease must travel through the bearing down the spindle/hub assy to get to the outer bearing and then into/through the outer bearing. Instead grease will always take the easiest path which will be out past the seal and contaminate your brakes.
This gives people a false sense of security. There is no substitute for removing the hubs and inspecting brakes and re-packing bearings. You don't want to be somewhere on the side of the road dealing with a bearing issue. This gets expensive fast.

IF you follow instructions, e-z lube works fine.. plenty of people here who think they are smarter than the engineers that designed it.
