F150 owners with sway control

These new F150's have computerized sway control. I've been using my sway control bar in conjunction with Fords sway control system. Does everyone else still use theirs? Seems like since I have it I may as well use it and Ford's system helps correct any sway while a friction bar helps prevent it.

The reason I ask is I had a guy come up to me last time I was out and tell me that he works for Ford and that I no longer needed a sway control bar.

Hey JP, I have a 2010 f150 with the trailer sway , I still use an anti sway device on my trailer , the Ford system works by applying the trailer brakes gradually ,

I still use mine, as stated the 150 uses the trailer brakes to control sway, the bar uses the hitch. Can't be a bad thing.

It's a cool system no doubt-- I like how it not only applies the brakes to the truck but also the trailer (assuming you have Ford's controller).

I agree it can't hurt to have both so I'll be continuing to use'em.

It's definitely an asset to have... but here is an experience we just had! We were traveling just west of HWY 150 on Iowa State Hwy 20 (East of Baraboo, IA, and the cememt hwy became rather bouncy where the sections joined.... It was not good; trailer was reallllly taking over the tow. We were traveling at 65mph and it felt like a jet liner shuddering. I think the F-150 trailer sway reduction helped when we slowly hit the brakes but KNOW that having a anti-sway hitch kept the trailer where it should be. It was actually pretty scary. I thought we had a blow out. If your tt is over 3000lbs, you should definitely have an additional anti-sway and WDH system.

We have the whole shaaah-bang.
Drawtite WD hitch and friction sway bar-- my WD hitch hardly is needed the tongue weight is only 600lbs and our truck's hitch can take 600lbs. But I use'em cause I have them. I figure taking 100lbs off the rear wont hurt anything.
