Fresh water plumbing schematic

In my 2015 Greyhawk the water pumped from the fresh water holding tank is not plumbed through the filter under the bathroom sink. That filter gets water only when I am hooked up to city water fixture. Is this the normal plumbing route? It seems the water from the fresh water tank should be filtered also.

I have a Seneca but it may be plumbed similarly to yours. It does not have a gravity tank fill like my older units, all water has to enter through the hose connection at the panel.

If I fill the tank using pressure from a hose ("City Fill" on my panel) it goes through the onboard filter and then into the freshwater tank. So all water I put into the tank gets filtered on the way in. If am using City water directly it also passes through the filter before going to the fixtures. When using the tank and the pump, it does not pass through the big filter again.

Might be how yours works if Jayco is consistent between lines of RVs.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the water plumbing on your Seneca, mine seems to be the same as yours. Makes sense to filter as water goes into tank with the city fill setting. I have an outside filter at the camp faucet so I guess water is filtered twice.

Thanks again for the information.

If your house filter has valves on the inlet and outlet (like mine) you could confirm the flow pattern by lining up the panel valves to fill the tank and then go to the filter and shut one of its valves off and listen/feel whether the flow stops going into the tank or not. That is actually how I confirmed my flow pattern!
