Fresh Water tank issue on a 2020 26XD

We had a couple of warm days this last week, so I decided to grab the creeper and give the underside of my 2020 26XD a look see for any further items that need attention before the season starts. What I found was the 2 plastic elbows on the drivers side rear, underside of the freshwater tank, the drain and fill connectors, are right against the frame. The water tank is empty and I can move it around. I can move the tank about 3/4" toward the outside (drivers side)and that gives the elbows clearance from the trucks frame for the expansion I expect when there is water in the tank and the RV is moving down the road. Now the only way I can hold the tank in this position would be to slide a length of 1"x6" wood along the tank on the opposite (psgr) side. Does this seem like a good fix? I know the tank probably won't move when its full but these elbows need some room. I bought it new last year and put 7200 miles on it and usually carry about 3/4 a tank of water. I don't know how these elbows survived. Any advise is appreciated.

Sounds reasonable to me. Use treated wood

Sounds like a good solution. But I would NOT use pressure treat. Pressure treat and steel do not play nicely, the steel will corrode rapidly. Its in a fairly well protected environment, you'll be better off with a piece of construction grade lumber.

I had not thought of that. Good information to know. And if it's easy enough I guess regular Lumber could be replaced periodically

Is there any signs of wear on the elbows?

Anyway maybe spray foam insulation will fill the gap easily and prevent movement.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I can see some pressure marks on the elbows. Right now I'm thinking of picking up some LDPE plastic strips and using that instead of the wood. LDPE is supposed to be the plastic that the water tank is made from. I thinking that being the same material should should lessen the likely hood of any wear that might take place as things shift going down the road. Although I don't think the tank moves very much when it has water in it. I thought about raising the tank 1/4 to 3/8" by sliding strips of plastic all around the base, but I'm concerned that they would slip out. There is no real way to anchor them, and I'm not going to press my luck by drilling through the angle iron frame under the tank to put in some short screws..
