Frozen Propane Lines?

I've always left my tanks on the trailer tongue over the winter, turned off, of course. No problems. But DW's friend said her Jayco popup's gas lines froze and broke over the winter. I'm not convinced the tank had anything to do with it, or even the winter weather, for that matter. But could there be a connection? Should I close the valves and turn the stove on until the flame goes out? Just being cautious.

Someone was sold a load of horse droppings... Propane is a "cold" gas the lines will not burst from freezing..

I agree with Seann. Propane boils at -44 degrees F and freezes at -304 degrees F.

Could have it been condensation or deteriorated lines?

You can assure them it was not from frozen propane.

That's probably what the problem is. It's an older Jayco popup that was stored on our property for a while. I didn't pay much attention to it except to note it hadn't been used in years. Thanks.

Although it still could have frozen. You ain't seen our winters!

The rubber hoses deteriorate - in particular from sun exposure. Like the others, I bet they were just old....

It had to be moisture that had gathered in a low spot.

You've all confirmed my initial reaction. It's an older, neglected unit. Due to a recent wildfire, there was a need to put it back in service. Fire was very bad for the city but it did get the popup put back in useable shape.
