Furnace Problem- Highland ridge

We recently purchased a new Highland Ridge 375 fifth wheel with a rear bedroom. There are two thermostats in the fifth wheel. The one system we did not check upon delivery was ac/heating and guess what? The heater is not working. We where told the thermostat in living area controls heater and thermostat in bedroom controls ac (is this correct). We tried running heater and heater would not ignite and goes into lockout. After multiple attempts the heater sometimes ignited and runs for 5 minutes and goes into lockout. I have made sure propane is full, replaced regulator, and replaced sail switch. The heater still takes several attempts to ignite and once it does ignite it only runs for 5 minutes and shuts off and goes into lockout. When out checking furnace I can smell propane but ignition is intermittent. Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong?

what type of furnace? Control board should have LED that will blink to advise of the error. Also, is the lockout hard or soft? That will also guide to the error.

If you have 2 a/c units each has a separate thermostat. Normally the living room is heat & cool whereas the bedroom is cool only unless it is a heatpump unit, but it will not be connected to the furnace.

If it is going into lockout it may be overheating and the thermal safety is kicking in. Are all the vents putting out air? If any are blocked it could cause that problem.

Need to be careful since you're dealing with gas and calling Dometic is one of the safer choices.

I'd check inlet for air and make sure it has good flow. If the outlets have good flow, you would think inlet is fine as well.

Are you at elevation? Possibly propane/air mix is off? Usually need to be at least 4,000 feet up to be an issue.

If you let the hot water run on gas for 15 min or so and then try the heater does it work? Since its new, perhaps the lines are not bled enough to have constant gas flow. I've smelled gas and still had this issue, but usually on the 3-4th attempt it will light and be fine.

Even though its running 5min, if the ignition lockout is happening, it sounds like its never lighting. The blower will run for a period before and after the burner cuts on. Do you ever hear it actually igniting and pushing hot air?

Check for water or moisture on the control board.
