Haloview install

I will be installing a haloview system very soon on our 5th wheel. I do not have the furrion prewire on our unit. My plan is to go either above or below the center clearance light and they the wall and getting power from an interior light circuit under a cabinet on my end-wall. This would give the camera continuous power. If I tapped into a clearance light I would always have to have lights on for power. I would install a switch in the cabinet where I pull power. So far this only has one hole the diameter of the cable fitting thru the wall and no visible cables. To keep from having to run a cable back out from the interior and down the length of the roof to a transmitter box, I thought I would just let the cable stay on the inside of the unit and connect to the transmitter box in a front wall wardrobe cabinet. I do not thing this would impeded much in the way of signal strength plus it would save the transmitter from the outdoor elements. This setup would then be coiled up when our destination is reached. Has anyone kept their cable/transmitter inside like this? I know I have seen a few put there cameras in the rear window. I have thought about that too if I could find a way to mount it end get a good image. Just wondering what others have done. Safe travels.

I tried the rear camera remote transmitter in my front pass through storage and the signal was petty weak and broke up frequently. I was able to route the cable under my trailer and bring the transmitter up to the propane tank cover without any issues.

I don't think you will be happy coiling the cable up at every destination. It's a lot of cable and it will get old fast. I would look for a way to do a cable run outside or at the very least in your ceiling.

Many Haloview cameras solve the weak signal problem. I installed the Haloview RD10. I suggest the Haloview model you select should include a transmitter. This is placed near your truck. I have a very strong signal even though my camera is 50+ feet away from the screen I look at. You always want your lights on when towing. Since the rear view mirror is useless when towing anyway, the RD10 easily snaps on it... plus it's very natural thing to look there AND I don't have something new on the dash. If you pick another model, just be sure it's got the separate transmitter.

There are a lot of haloview installation videos on YouTube, you can check them out, and maybe it will help. With no installation experience, I followed the video and installed it successfully. Good luck
