Harbor Freight Solar Battery Maintainers

Hi all, I got a coupon for HF's solar battery maintainers, and, picked two of them up last night for 12.99 each. They put out 1.5 amps, and, come with a lighter plug, and battery clip leads. Has anyone used these, or something similar, to maintain a charge on their camper battery? Other than simply putting some terminals on the ends of one of the leads, is there anything else that should be installed?

It will only charge the chassis battery, not the house battery. We've been looking for a standalone unit that can sit outside when dry camping and charge the house battery.

They should work ok for you just remember they are for maintaining when in storage.. they are of no real use when Boondocking..
