Heating/Cooling system trips generator

First time trying to power up the heating/cooling system on a new 2018 Jayco SLX 29' TT. When the system initiated its start up it caused my WEN 2KW inverter generator to stall but not trip offline.

The generator went into a faulted condition (red light flashing) green light off. To get the WEN to operate I had to power down the TT heating/cooling system. Then the WEN would produce power.

This all occurred last night in the dark with my first night in the TT after moving onto my property. I'm in training all day today and probably won't be able to get into any troubleshooting until tomorrow.

I'll also try calling the vendor on Monday.

Ideas? Seen this before? Also the built in stereo doesn't work.........

.
Overloaded.

Air conditioner needs around 2700 to 2900 watts for start up.

Yep, no way a 2000W generator will start the A/C without a hard start capacitor. But, it'll run just about everything else.

Just installed an Easystart 364 soft start system on one of my AC’s. It’s starts much easier than the same AC with a hard start cap. I’d try that. Easy install. Or, since the hard start caps are cheap, go that route first and see what results you get.

TxLoser is correct. I should've stated soft start capacitor, not hard start. Oops.

Or add in an inverter that does power sharing like the IC2000 or IC3000
