Help

The ground prong on my 50 amp cord broke off, I aways plug the cord into a surge protector, should I replace the 50 amp cord plug or will it be okay? Surge protector has a ground plug!

Replace it for sure. Home Depot or Lowes should have a replacement plug. If surge guard is an EMS it will probably throw a fault without it.

Short answer Replace the plug!

Without the ground plug you are breaking the connection between your coach and the campground pedestal plug which is eventually wired to a ground rod buried on site somewhere. Without that connection if a 3 pronged device shorts internally in your coach and someone touches it... Electricution can happen.
That ground plug was added in the early days of electricity to prevent electricutions.
If it was me I would replace the plug no hesitation!

Having had a shocking experience as a youngster, I have a great deal of respect (and caution) regarding alternating current. Replace it.
