Help me zero in - Which Observation Camera and EMS
I told my wife that budgeting a $1,000 bill to our new TT (leftover 2016 X254, new off the dealer lot for us this past Feb.) for add-ons and mods would put us in good shape. From cheap to not so cheap I researched the forum for opinions and reviews. However, with some of the threads being years old, some of the links for the recommended items in the threads no longer work.
Starting with cheap, I figured out which Command hooks and digital thermostat to buy. I also built some bunk ladders from PVC and bought some bed rails at IKEA (see pics). Here's two bigger ticket items that I still need help deciding on. Please steer me with your input (and here's your chance to spend someone else's money)...
EMS -
Progressive Industries: EMS-HC30C.
I "think" this is the one I want. This one is hardwired with a remote display, which I think means I can mount the display where I can see the numbers that otherwise, I would not be able to if mounted in a sealed cabinet. Being retired law enforcement, I think thievery abounds (it actually does although most here say not with the portable ones) so I decided on hardwired verses portable. Is there another model I should consider for my 30A TT?
Observation Camera (wireless) -
Furrion: FOS48TAPK-BL
-OR-
Rear View Safety: RVS-2CAM
I am torn on this one. They are similar in price. I will be tapping into the center clearance light since I do not believe it is prewired. The RVS has a microphone at the camera and speaker at the monitor but most here have chosen Furrion. There are other differences but I'm looking for real world user input.
Thanks in advance!
Jerry

We have a preference for the Rear View Safety cameras. We have replaced factory junk with them and couldn't be happier.

The EMS unit we in our TT use is the Progressive Industries: EMS-HC30C. I chose the hard wired one because I could put the display in a convenient place and since I was replacing the power cord with a quick connect I already had access to the junction box area.
We also use the Furrion: FOS48TAPK-BL. It will occasionally lose connection but will reconnect within 2 seconds. The display is OK considering we have a 5" b&w monitor.
Cannot give opinion on the Rear View Safety: RVS-2CAM, never used or researched them
Just my experience and opinion

Thanks for the input so far. I got this out late tonight (and on a holiday weekend) so I figured it would be a few days before seeing replies. I think hearing from first hand users is better than reading the specs put out by the manufacturer. I also added the pics I forgot to insert with the original post.

Another vote for the RVS system. I have had mine for several years now

When I installed our EMS -Progressive Industries: EMS-HC30C I also replaced the mouse-hole with a Furrion detachable cord system:
https://www.amazon.ca/Furrion-FCKIT3.../dp/B004XN57UI
It was an easy install while installing the EMS and there are good youtube videos on installs.

Thanks for the input. It prompted me not to wait any longer and I made the following purchases today. I went with the RVS-2cam Observation Camera, a pair of BAL X-chocks for my tandem axle x254, the Precision Industries 30 amp hardwired EMS, a kit containing two 50' rolls of 4" Eternabond and the related cleaner and primer. I want to take a proactive approach to roof maintenance and seam reinforcement. I also purchased a Trailer-Aid Plus, which, for those not familiar with it is a ramp device to drive one of the two wheels on to bring the other tandem wheel up in the air. This allows for bearing, brake or flat tire work without a jack. The drawback is you would have to have your TV hitched to the TT to move it up on the ramp. I also threw in a Camco 90° brass hose attachment to put on the city water connection. Whew! I think it left me a few dollars out of that thousand to buy some marshmallows.

The must accessory for any camper IMHO is the Anderson 3604 leveler. If you have tandems axles you need a 2 pack. You can level from side to side in a couple of minutes with no stacking of blocks and pulling on and off. The only thing better is auto leveling which I ordered on my latest camper.

I just looked those up and watched a one minute video on it. I never heard of them. Great idea. Thanks!
