Hole in front Cap - Metal Replacement needed- Tornado

A F1 tornado did us in. I have two holes in the front metal piece of my 2020 28bhs. Insurance would total, we are choosing not to file as we can live with dents, the top section of metal however has 2 holes. The holes are contained to the only the top metal piece that connects to the roof. We are very much DYI people. Does anyone know how the tongue and groove works on this front metal goes? Top over lower section or lower section over the top section? Also any recommendations on ordering replacement metal or the replacement procedure would be much appreciated.

Just to reiterate, we are keeping it as we are about 4 to 5 years away from a retirement RV and have no idea what we will want then. This one is paid for so...we will live with dents and no payments, I just need to fix the holes. Currently Flexseal tape is keeping it dry until we can get a permanent fix in place.

It's installed starting at the top. So to remove it you start at the bottom.

At least it is on the front, you don't have to worry about hatches, windows, etc.

Talk to a Jayco dealership, they should be able to order the sheet metal and decals (if you want them).

It’s not a quick project but it’s not bad. Lot of the time is dealing with the adhesive between the panel joints. I used a heat gun with a plastic putty knife to separate them. Below is the adhesive that I used to reseal the panel joints and where the black trim up the sides meets the roof. You will also need a staple gun like the one linked below. Plenty of butyl tape and Dicor sealant too.

Thanks all, every comment so very helpful. A couple of follow-up questions.

When taking the metal sections apart if done correctly, the panels without holes are reusable correct?

Also is the black edge/side trim reusable or should we plan on purchasing that when we get the metal?
