Honda EU2000i and Companion-15,000 BTU AC

The 4k should work great . I have a Yamaha 2400is I have had five or six years . I did get it to work on my old rig 15k btu but I had to turn on the fan first then air and if anything else would kick it out. Most of the inverter type generators will not take a surge like the non inverter models . What most people don't realize is the amount of amps that it takes to start a item .

Here's my new Champion 3100. Lots of power for a 15k BTU A/C.
A lot lighter than my Yamaha 3000 was & only a little louder. From what i can gather they are only available on line at Costco.ca because the stores can't keep up with demand..

Sounds like you already have your question answered and have bought two 2000's. Just so it is clear to anyone in the future reading this, I have the 15k AC and a 2000i honda. I did try it just to see and I will tell you that it will not power up the AC. It will however power up the AC fan only, not the compressor.

If you have issues starting your AC, install a hardstart capacitor on the AC, it will help lighten the startup load on the genny.

Yep, bought 2 Hondas and have them here already. I never expected 1 to do the job but was reading other forums and they were saying 2 wouldn't start the AC. We'll find out here shortly but most of my dry camping is in the spring and fall so I don't think I'll need both all the time.

Hook up to CG power most of the time but wanted to not worry about AC if I didn't have shore power.

Thanks for everyone's input!
