Dealer should bronze that thing, put a sign on it and hang it outside the shop. IMHO.

Final Update:

Problem found - bad spark plug. He had finished servicing the generator with oil change, cleaned the air filter, new plug, etc. and it wouldn't run. He never replaced the plug again when it wouldn't start never thinking the plug he replaced was bad.

The generator is back in service and has run 45 hours or so out of the last 48 hours.

No more updates since his season is over. The generator won't be back in 23+ hours/day service until late May 2015.

I have two 2000i's but not that many hours. My buddy has one about 10 years old that we use at deer camp a lot and it still runs great. Had to replace carb once but that was his fault for leaving gas in it that turned to varnish. 20 min change out.

We're in the middle of a whole house renovation project. We anticipated a 3 to 4 week stay in the Pup while the electrical and mechanical portions were completed.....several complications (mechanical and dry wall contractor no show) we are now going on week 7 and probably have one more week if the code inspectors do their part.

Our dual Honda 2000's have been running almost continually (24/7) from the start. The temperatures have dropped, so now we get by with just one running so I've been rotating the usage. Not a hiccup from either of them. Every other week I change the oil and clean the filters. Couldn't be any more pleased with the quality and dependability of the Honda product.....well worth the money IMHO.

Thanks for the input.
I can't really find much bad on the Hondas or the Yamahas. My no name unit only lasted around 800 hrs and is toast.

I have a Honda and love it. I'm sure the Yamaha is just as nice. I wouldn't buy any other brand of inverter generator. Regardless of cost.

I think the Yamaha & Honda brands are both great choices you'll never regret.
