Hooked up and ready to go

Was just wondering . I've got my trailer ready to go all hooked up for early start tommorow. Is it ok to plug in to shore power to run my fridge while to traiker is also plugged in to my truck? Since shore power charges your 12 volt batt. Would it be charging my trucks batt. too? Would it be better to disconnect truck

Hooked up and ready to go

I don’t believe it will hurt anything but I personally always disconnected my truck and camper if the camper was plugged in...

I don't think it matters but I always unplug my 7 way connector when I am connected to shore power.

Jayv,

Welcome to JOF

I disconnect my 7-pin TV/TT connection under the condition you describe thus keeping 'Murphy's Electrical Law' at bay

All the newer trucks have relays and fuses on the 12 volt charge line. So if the truck is off there is no issue
Not sure what year they started this but it was on our 2013 F150. Had the relay and fuse in the glovebox when we picked it up new. I had to install it.
Our 2016 F250 is wired up the same way.

I always unplug the trailer, but will leave it hooked up if possible. I also unplug it if we are going to be at a stop for more than an hour of so so the TT does not drain the truck battery.
