Hooking up solar to ceiling light wiring

During the winter we store our TT at my brother in laws house, right next to his hybrid, and he wanted to show me something in his TT, when I got inside, I saw right away he had a solar controller mounted on the ceiling next to a ceiling fixture. So I asked him if he had a solar panel, and he said "yeah, I think so, it came with it when I bought it used"... guess he didn't got on the roof since he bought it lol.

Itlooks like a 50watt panel, about 16 by 16 inches. and it's a cheap 5 amps pwm controller, but guess it's good for someone that only wants to maintain the battery.

I know the wiring for the ceiling light must not be very big, but it must be rated for 15amps since that's the fuse size? so even a 100watt panel could be installed without having to fish wiring?

any comments or concerns? besides that my BIL should really look at his roof more often!
