How does this battery switch connect?

See attachment please.

I want to get one of these popular battery disconnect switches. However my stuff currently connects with a bolt to the small battery terminal that points up.

I understand how to actually attach the switch to the battery itself on the big post.

But how do I attach the stuff to the little switch post sticking out sideways?

And I will own up if I'm missing something ridiculously obvious.

Thanks!

I read the reviews and I'm not impressed. Sounded like it had to modded to make it work by some reviewers. Another said it broke after a year.
I would invest more time and a little more money.

I used a knife type on mine. Cost around 20 bucks. It bolts on the battery and is no trouble. There are others more expensive.

Battery Doctor is the manufacturer. They all type of connection options depending on what you need. I got mine at Northern tool.
Consensus is to always connect to the Negative battery terminal.

Norty,

Does the height of that switch create any problems with the fit of the battery box lid?

Not on mine. Just look where it is going and plan accordingly.

It could be a problem in a battery box. They also have switches that are weatherproof and can mount outside a battery box.
Here is mine but it's in a separate hatch.

That might be a problem for my battery box.

So the ones I've seen outside, you just run a short connector from the negative battery post to one switch post and then go on from the other switch post.

Something similar to this?

I like the look of that one. If I was doing it, it would be mounted higher in the box with some holes in the bottom for drainage.

Agreed. Am I correct about how those types connect though?
