The movement looks just like our slide. I consider it to be normal, the way it's supposed to be.

How much movement in the slide is normal?

We have a much smaller slide in our X20E and it acts very similar. The bottom tilts and starts moving prior to the top beginning to move. I think it's normal, but would like to see others experiences.

That looks normal to me. In fact our slide tilts way more than that when its pulling in. I actually thought your original question was about the slide doing this while moving along the highwayay… If that was the case it would be a big problem. We had our slide in for service because it sitting about two inches out when we were moving. It turned out we were inserting the slide lock incorrectly. I know there are a few opinions about the locks, but Jayco told us that it is very important to keep the lock in at all times when moving, or it can lead to some serious stability issues.. Anyway, I don't know if you use a lock while under way.. but that would be my main suggestion… and keeping it well lubricated.

Looks normal to me. Be very careful with dog bowl or toys on the floor because they will find their way behind your slides lip and do some serious damage when you put the slide out. Nothing on the floor when going down the road.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad to hear that this is normal operation. It's just one of those things that looks kind of odd, and I have no reference for "normal" operation.

What are these? I've never heard of them, and no one has ever suggested them to me... Does that go on top of the slide? Wedged between the wall and the inside edge?

Yeah, we already had this happen. DW left a milk crate with water jugs on the floor and it got wedged behind the slide while deploying. Luckily it only popped the trim piece off and didn't damage the seals or the edges... Now we are VERY careful about what is on the floor around the slide; nothing gets stored on the floor or around the slide at any time, and the space behind the slide edge is inspected prior to deployment. Those dog bowls are actually under that cabinet in a little cubby designed for shoes. Usually they are WAY under the cabinet, but I have the rig in the driveway all week prepping, so I just kicked them out of the way before shooting this video because I was in a hurry...

Just thought I would add to make sure your camper is level before operating slides, I once had mine jump when I didn't level properly.

Lubricate the slide rails... I have to do that 3-4 times a year.. there is a special lube for it.

Yes.. the slide lock is placed between the slide and the interior wall of the trailer, as pictured in the photo that I posted. Our slide lock came with our trailer, but I have heard that some don't come with locks, or that some people don't use them. So I asked the tech guy about this when he was fixing our trailer and he said that He believed that all slides came with locks, and that the only way you can guarantee your slide is stable during transport is to use a lock. So if you don't have one with your trailer, then I think it is worth calling Jayco, or talking to others with the same model to see what they know..

With slide locks there is usually a marked spot on the wall to install them. It's a sticker that says slide locks here. The wall area needs to be designed to support the locks. My new trailer did not come with slide locks and there is no marked places for slide locks. But as suggested you can call Jayco and see if you should be using them on your trailer.

CB, that looks normal to me. MY Eagle 320 has 2 slides, one big one like yours and a front queen bed slide. I think the bigger the slide, the jerkier they get. My bedroom slide is smaller and a lot smoother. No slide locks here either. Enjoy your trip.
