how old is my onan?

I was wondering if there is a manufacturing date on the generator, or do I need the part number and a phone call?

rv is an 89 but generator is fairly new, just wondering how new. fully built in, with inside switch. no hour meter.

You can cheaply (and easily) add an hour meter. Useful for keeping track of maintenance.

I added one to my whole home generator. One wire simply wraps around the spark plug wire and one goes to ground. That's all. 10 years later and it still works just fine.

thanks Smoker, my generator was manufactured in october of 1997. shes no spring chicken either. still looking good though.

Wrascal nice tip on the hours counter I will have to pick one up and hook it up.
