Identify 40amp fuse

What does the 40amp fuse on the 2019 17MBS control? If removed, does it disconnect the 12 system and preserve the battery?

If you're referring to the main fuses, one, or maybe both will be for reverse polarity protection, if you accidently connect the battery posts backwards. Perhaps someone else will give some answers, also.

Need more info? Pulling fuses is not the best way to disconnect batteries.
