Kenwood/Kicker wiring problem?

We just picked up our new to us 2007 Jayco Octace ZX 21T toy hauler. I'm sure I'll have many questions but will start with this one.
It has a Kenwood stereo with Kicker speakers; 4 in the living area and 2 outside with a selector switch.
In the "inside" position all 4 inside speakers are on and outside are off
"off" position: 2 rear speakers inside are on, all others off
"outside" position: 2 rear speakers are on, front inside speakers are off, outside speakers are on but there is no volume. I can feel them vibrate and if you turn the volume up loud enough you can hear static.
I suspect a ground problem but would like to hear from you all.
TIA
Greg

Can't really help other that to tell you to check the outside speakers for weather breakdown. My sony exterior speakers had deteriorated to the point there were absolutely no cones left on them. The wiring from the head unit to the amp and speakers was also completely jacked up with converters, wrong wires, broken wires etc.Basically it was working in Mono. Took a day to figure it out. The people that hook these up are not Stereo installers, if it makes sound that's good enough.

Thumbs up

Ross you were dead on. When I got home from work I pulled one of the outside speakers and there was no cone left. I had an old speaker I hooked up just to check and it worked fine. So tomorrow it will be a new pair of marine speakers and on to the next project.
Thanks again
