Larger Capacity Air Conditioner?

Just thinking... dangerous, I know... Is 15K BTU the largest capacity A/C unit made for RVs? There seems to be a lot of units that are borderline with a 15K unit but don't really need 2 units except in very rare conditions. Does no one make like a 20K - 24K unit? Thanks in advance for tolerating my idiocy...

As far as I know, Jayco campers only offer 13k and 15k ac units. We ordered our 33.5' 28BHBE camper with dual ac units but the single main 15k unit kept us ice cold this weekend and the heat index was 100+ every day. Other than testing out 2nd ac to make sure it worked we've never left it on... We have the thermal package but not sure how much that helps it or not...

Was your coach parked in the shade or were you in the full sun?

Atwood claims to make an 18K BTU unit. Note the asterisk for the BTU when looking at the link. The specs show 18K BTU "equivalence".

There was a fairly constant breeze which I would assume helped. We had shade off and on. Site faces north and there are trees to the east and west. So shade in the morning and after 3ish. But even in the midday sun it stayed cold in the camper.

I should also note we keep all shades closed and we ordered the camper with no skylights.

Shade is definately your friend. Without it, I bet that second ac will see a lot of action. At least on those very hot days.
