This one wouldn't work in my situation (as a direct replacement in the control center) without chasing down a bunch of wire. The switch in the control center doesn't connect directly to the light, it goes to the panel first. A PWM dimmer needs to be wired directly to the light, you can't use the common ground that is attached to the back of the switch in the control center.

So I went with the one from Amazon. While it doesn't look quite as neat as this one, it works.

How did you connect the one from Amazon and where did you put it?

I haven't installed the Amazon Remote Control one yet... it's on my list of ToDos this season but it was discussed on this forum, or possibly another one. I'll try to find it.

Sorry... I didn't read closely enough. Looks like some functions on the remote worked, but not the dimmer. Is it possible these lights can't be dimmed?

I wired it in up by the awning support. The wires for the lights go into the trailer at the same place as the power awning wiring. I did a write-up about it, and so did another member (that's where I got the idea). I'll see if I can find it and link it.

Most LEDs can be dimmed because of PWM. Pulse Width Modulation basically turns the lights on and off rapidly at different rates too fast for the human eye to perceive as anything more than dimming the lights. A higher frequency of "off" time creates a dimmer look, while a higher frequency of "on" time creates a brighter effect.

Here are a couple discussions on different installation strategies.

https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f3...ing-29789.html

I did a variation on Filthy-Beast's install in this thread. My shrink wrap was too small to fit over the dimmer module though, so mine looks totally sloppy compared to his. One day when I'm bored, I'll take the electrical tape off and put a proper shrink wrap sleeve on there, but it works the way it is even if it doesn't look pretty.

So I ordered the dimmer with the the remote off Amazon. Looks like the wires enter the trailer inside the front wardrobe. Naturally there is no access panel. Do you think Jayco could tell me how the wires are run?

I recently bought that dimmer/remote and while it does work with the lights I want to use, I get a hum on any setting but full (%100) on or off. It does work and not hum with my LED strip lights (the kind on double sided tape). Not sure what I'm going to do now, I guess the strip lights would throw enough light, just not what I wanted originally.
