Lifting tv up from the bottom to access behind

I would love to change out the TV mount in our Eagle from the type that extends and moves side to side to one that allows you to lift the tv from the bottom and allow access behind the TV. The seating in our 330RSTS bodes well for TV viewing from all seating positions so we really have no need to have it be able to be angled one way or another, but the OEM mount makes it a real pain to get behind the TV to access the connections/storage areas.

Has anyone seen this type of mount for sale other than in another RV? Can you provide a link? I am usually really good at finding things using online searches but so far have come up empty.

TIA,

Jay

However, I did figure out from the link that you provided that what I am looking for just might be a ceiling mount installed vertically. So that does help in my search.

What I have seen in a few other RV's (SOB), were ones that appeared to have a metal, rectangular wall mount frame that allowed access thru it to any storage/shelving behind it. Then that "frame" had either a plate or two arms extending down from top hinges attached to that back frame and two hydraulic/gas struts, one on each side to support the TV while lifted up.

That not only gave easy access to the storage areas and cables/connections both on and behind the TV, but would probably keep the TV from twisting around while in transit much better than a single arm with a center positioned mount plate on the end like the OEM mount I currently have. The one that came with the trailer does not lock in place either, but rather is held back by a couple of fairly strong magnets. It's a nice, simple design but is poorly implemented because the arm allows enough flex and twist while in transit that it has already rubbed the finish off on the wood behind it and marred the back of the tv.

So in the near term, I have been just removing the TV altogether by lifting it off of the end of the arm and lying it on the bed while we are in transit. But it's getting really old quickly of having to constantly mount/dismount it as well as connecting and disconnecting the cables twice for each stop.

The only other type of similar mount I have seen is where it would still have the same type of wall mount frame, but instead of the hinge being on the top, the hinge is on the side and allows the TV to swing out like a cabinet door. I thought about just fashioning something up out of plywood and staining it to match, a piano hinge, a couple of gas struts, etc. but would rather have something already premade out of metal. It's just finding one that is the hard part.

Thanks again!

Monoprice has more mounts than any place I've ever seen. They have something for pretty much every situation you might fine. You will have to try multiple searches though. Just searching for TV mounts will only find TV mounts. Search for "monitor mounts" also to see even more.
